Our mission is to create modern and thoughtful pieces.
We believe in ethical manufacturing and recycled materials. Because fishing nets and plastic bottles can be made into beautiful swimsuits — and not in polluting the oceans and clogging landfills.
We believe in being transparent, taking care of the women who make our pieces, and never compromising on the environment.
Thank you for being here.
Ocean Waste to Wear
Every year, millions of marine animals – such as sea turtles, seals, dolphins and whales – are harmed by ocean plastic pollution. About 46% of all ocean plastics are made of discarded and abandoned fishing nets; these fishing nets can span for up to 2 miles long and were designed for one purpose: the catching and killing of marine life. A fishing net can drift through the ocean trapping thousands of animals for years without losing its shape.
To combat that, we’ve teamed up with an Italian fabric manufacturer and leader in providing sustainable fashion solutions to use ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon, turning ocean plastic waste into virgin-quality nylon yarn.
An Italian stamp of approval
ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon is made of repurposed ocean plastic waste. It feels smooth and buttery soft, with shape-retention technology to smooth and sculpt the body.
Some of its features includes:
— long-lasting and exceptional shape-retention (5x the strength and 4x the compression)
— chlorine, suntan cream and oil resistance
— UV protection
Ethical, Female-Owned and Operated
We were led to this factory by it’s first rate industry reputation. Located 10 minutes outside of Denpasar city-center in Bali, all of our products are made here in this Balinese factory. All the artisans are paid fair wages at up to 3x industry standards, where they can negotiate their own salaries, are given comprehensive health insurance and are given annual bonuses.
Last but not least, here’s the truth.
We’re no-where near perfect, but we’re working on doing everything we can to eliminate single-use plastic.
All our swimsuits are made from recycled waste, our bags are reusable, and our print materials are on 100% recycled paper. However,
- 1.There’s still plastic bags used in the production process, especially in the shipment of products. We are working with our partners to eliminate single plastic entirely.
- 2.The hygiene liner is also plastic, and non-recyclable. We are in the process of sourcing and testing different hygiene liners that is non- toxic and made with recycled paper.
